We’ve been a couple of times for takeout foods and once we sat in for sweets. The frozen take home meat pelmeni, possibly Siberian style but not sure if they use mixed meat, are outstanding. Really reminds me of real pelmeni. I also ordered a птичье молоко cake for my daughter for her birthday which is something similar to what we’ve found here in Montenegro called an iceberg and what we are used to from our time in the region. Basically a soft cake like crust topped with a thick layer of a very soft marshmallow merengue and covered in dark chocolate. The cake was beautifully decorated and boxed. (See pics) but we decided to eat it there and share with some little guests. A bit pricey at 45 euro but it’s a bit of nostalgia and the chocolate topping was true dark chocolate and it was fresh. And I can’t make it soServed 10-12. We also tried a slice (on the house thank you Ivan) of the medovnik which I usually do not like at all but this one had a cheesecake like filling that made it not too sweet and I would say it was quite good. We had tea which was delicious. But the best thing for me is they have “borodinsky khleb “ бородинский хлеб”which is literally my favorite bread in the world and so freaking hard to get. It may not be 100 percent authentic but it is really really close (just without those caraway seeds on top). We also tried the cabbage vareniki. I much prefer pelmeni to vareniki but I’d get the cabbage ones again. Real cabbage, not other greens. Very happy with what we’ve tried. I make my own borscht so haven’t tried that yet but i may be tempted if we stop in to eat. Here is what I hope: for summer they will make a real okroshka окрошка which I can make but would love to eat out with some borodinsky and maybe make a real печеночный торт со слоями сливочного сыра и говяжьей печени:) not chicken livers (they are bitter to me personally in this recipe if they happen to be taking requests. They speak English, русский, српский и crnogorski and i think украйнский .
