We came to Gaardhaven for the Silvester dinner, and at the same time a birthday celebration. It was a such a special and wonderful experience. The owners were so nice, so as the people who were there celebrating the Silvester. We started with the Danish tradition, namely listening to the Queen's speech, an impressive one. At the same time, our souls were driven into the dinner mood by the fantastic aperitif (secret recipe, go there and try it). The five course menu started with the fantastic fried parsnip sticks with bread batter coating, on artichoke puree and caviar. The grilled cod fish filet (second course) with fennel cream sauce was definitely brought to a superior level by the fresh pear pieces and caper. The Osso Bucco was so tender and juicy, while being dedicatedly balanced by the cauliflower mousse. The Pavlova's cover was light as if it would fly away after being broken, and crunchy. The consistency of the filling is as light as the sound of a flute, and its slightly sour touch totally refreshed the mouth from the previous courses. By the end we were served a combination of cheese varieties: a Manchego, a Danish origin camembert type cheese, a Danish cheese from west Jutland in le Greyere style, and the Danish blue cheese flavoured with some chilli flakes. The cheese plate is garnished with walnut in syrup, and pear pieces marinated by the house (secret recipe, go there and try it). We indeed had a very great food experience, and felt so much like at home. It is definitely a place to take a turn to visit, while you drive through Denmark!

Thank you Chen. Many and first of all really nice words. So good to have you and your family’s company on the last day of the year. We also had the chance to chat some English, German and Danish in one sentence!
