My family always had gastronomy in the blood: my grandparents, my parents, my siblings and me too. I have training in baking and pastry, but I also know how to cook. I was born in Argentina but grew up in Italy. Eating in Italy is an art. Ice cream in Italy is an art. Many ice cream parlors are standard, dealing with semi-finished products. I have worked in different places in Italy and in Germany. Some chains don't even prepare their own ice cream; I won't mention names, but there is one in the center(Hannover) very famous that only sells ice creams. Having said this, in the town in Italy where I lived, I have 5 or 6 award winning ice cream shops, and it is like a football team the ice cream shop. Each person in each neighborhood is a fan of their own ice cream shop. In recent years, the level of competition has risen so much that flavors such as zapallo with saffron and honey can be found, for example, something I have not seen in Hannover. But if I have to choose an ice cream shop where I enjoy eating ice cream, it's Frioli. I don’t go to Frioli because the ice cream shop is pretty or because their service is particularly exceptional. I go to Frioli because they have an ice cream I like. They could be more creative, yes. But we're in Germany and I don't know if the Frioli clientele is willing to experiment. For me, ice cream can be a culinary experience. However, if I have to have an ice cream here in Hannover, 90 percent of the time I go to Frioli. In other words, in the village in Italy where I lived, there are 5 or 6 priced eisdielen, and it is like a football manpower of the eisdielen. Everyone in any room is a fan of his own ideas. In recent years the level of wetness has risen so high that you can find products like Kürbis with saffron and honey, for example something I have not seen in Hannover. But if I had to call an Eisdiele, in what I like your Eis is, it's Frioli. I don't go to Frioli because the rooms are nice or the service is particularly outstanding. I go to Frioli because they have an Eis that I like. You could be creative, yes. But we are in Germany and I don't know if the Frioli community is experimental. For me, this can be a culinary experience though. But if I want to eat an ice here in Hannover, I go in 90 percent of the way to Frioli. Gustavo
