I ate very well at competitive prices (low even considering the average for Ariccia which in itself is a location as unique as it is affordable). Starter for two which was already enough to fill you up; abundant and creamy carbonara, kebabs a little subdued compared to the rest of the dishes, but overall, I couldn't have asked for anything better. No. No because despite my first visit from which I left very happy, this time I was largely disappointed. Carbonara too too salty and bacon with a strange flavour. The real annoyance was caused by the waiter who wanted to remove courses in progress, faced with ultimatums to serve other courses and a lot of confusion in taking the order, as well as making me look bad with the people I had invited. I will return for a third chance having had two very different experiences. Yesterday... The first time I went to Rugantino. There were four adults, a 4 year old and a 6 month old baby. I was amazed, I wanted to do the €25.00 menu, the very kind waiter recommended the €20.00 menu because it was a lot, from the mega starter, abundant first courses and second courses. An appetizer that despite the table of 6 people, 4 of us plus a child, we no longer knew where to put food. Everything and more. Tripe, never eaten so good. Fabulous porchetta, mixed cold cuts, sausage, fabulous ham, couples, etc. cheese, buffalo mozzarella, fried vegetables, etc. beans with sausage, bruschetta, etc. All very good. Fabulous and abundant first courses and second courses with the same side dish. I visit many restaurants in Rome and the province, but Da Rugantino is the top of the Fraschetta di Ariccia. The bill... We only paid for the adults, the child was free. Professional waiter, very kind and precise. The owner... Wonderful.
