If you want to dine exceptionally well in the Lütjenburg area, you are in good hands at the “Hessenstein” restaurant! Very good cuisine and courteous service. I really like the atmosphere, it is reminiscent of the old forest houses. The drinks menu is also well sorted. Anyone who is prepared to pay a little more for very good cuisine will be served a truly exquisite meal here. I really look forward to dining there occasionally! Actually, I don't like to complain, but our visit to Hessenstein was something special: you are greeted by a sign on the entrance door: "Be nice to our employees - we have enough guests!" hmmm, you can do it, but it's unusual. We hadn't made a reservation and called to see if we could just come for a beer. Yes - no problem, that's fine. Arriving at 1930 we even got a table that had obviously already been cleared - the 'reserved guests' had already left. So far so good. Ordered beer - everything was good. Given the delicious food at the neighboring tables, my wife still worked up an appetite and asked for the menu: "No, the table had already been served once that evening, nothing could be prepared for other guests at this table that evening (not until 7:30 p.m., mind you). 22 O `clock...)! A nice restaurant, a great spot - but what service! I can't judge whether it was the fault of our service staff or whether that's how it's generally handled, but if that's the standard, it's amazing that they're obviously not interested in the business. Then you drink your beer and don't come back. But there are enough guests - confirmed in writing -... The next day we had dinner at OleLiese - as always, courteous, polite, professional, delicious and talked about it and thanked us for the great service - people there were somewhat amazed at our experience in Hessenstein... what a shame!
