Après avoir visité Vancouver Chinatown, venez dans ce restaurant. Si vous n'avez jamais goûté la cuisine thaïlandaise, venez à Fat Mao. Des champignons cuits à la perfection sont parmi les plats à goûter dans ce lieu. Essayez des pancakes délicieux. Vous devriez venir essayer un cidre qui est délicieux ici. Cet endroit propose un thé glacé thaïlandais immense parmi ses boissons.
Vous aurez de bons souvenirs de ce restaurant parce qu'il est connu pour avoir un bon service et une équipe aimable, toujours prête à vous aider. Des plats délicieux à un prix bas sont offerts ici. We are party of 11 people saw them just open for lunch and the place was completely empty. As we walk in the hostess/waitress is like she doesn’t want to be there!! I told her we have 11 people, she replied “we cannot accommodate you, our biggest table only seat 8-10”. We responded “We can split up for 2 or more tables”. She responded “You can’t do that.” Why not as I asked (to my surprise). She then consulted with another lady behind the counter and then respond back as “Fine but you can only have the table for 40 minutes, We reply “Fine” we just want to grab lunch and go, it’s not like we are going to congregate in here. Right after I agree with their term’S’ then immediately the hostess/waitress add more restriction and said it has to be 1-bill and we said fine again and she said 20% gratuity must be added. So I ask her, if we come in 4 person at a time sitting at 3 sperate random tables like strangers do I still need to be 1 bill, leave in 40min and 20% gratuity? She said YES! By that time we just walked away!!
Its not about the money, it’s about principal!! No one should be treated like that or be judge the way they dress or looks!! So we found a very nice busy Dim Sum place nearby call Jade Dynasty, food was amazing and we spent $455 for lunch (included 25% tips), can’t really say the service worth 25% but…..still better than paying Fat Mao anything at all.
-We are not crazy or loud people, just walking by and want to grab lunch, but as we walk in the hostess wasn’t welcoming at all.
-The place was empty, no reason why they cannot accommodate us with 2 tables.
-Any restaurant that have time limit is no less then 1 hours!! Their max 40 minutes they imply is like they want to kick us out. Think about it, 10min to settle in and read the menu, 10min to wait for the food, only 20min left for you to woof down your food before they kick you out.
-If we are no longer seating as a group, why do you insist to have 1-bill and to secure a 20% gratuity?! They sure get pushy and greedy fast as most places is 15% only for group at causal eatery (highest I see in 18% for fancy place) . I’m surprised they didn’t ask me to paid first!!
I don’t know what’s wrong with this restaurant? Something against my race? The way we look and dress? Or simply a group of 11?! I really don’t know, but one thing I do know is I will never eat there and will advise everyone not to dinner there and be insulted and treated like you are unwanted.
