"One tequila! Two tequila! Three tequila! Floor!" -Anonymous Use caution. Killepitsch is delicious and worth the stop, if only to buy a single ice-cold shot. ONE shot. Because this stuff will warm you up and get you a bit liquidated if you're not careful. Place your order at the square window in the front and then sip your shotglass (it's yours to keep!) at the wooden table in front while you watch the tourists (hey, that's me!) walk past. Killepitsch is dark red and perhaps sweeter than Jägermeister, flavored with fruits, berries, herbs and spices. Don't let the looks deceive you. It will definitely get you rolling. Killepitsch is 42% alcohol by volume (84 proof) and delicious. Yes, you can buy a whole bottle if you wish. The one shot of this was enough for me. Maybe my favorite dive bar I've ever been to in my life. Just go. Killepitach flows, gluhwein steams, and the bartenders are all time classics.

The ambiance of Et Kabuffke is very unique. There are dated and elaborate designs on the wall and ceiling in dull colors. A sophisticated chandelier of an angel holding torches dangles gracefully from the ceiling. There aren't too many seats by the bar, and a narrow little spiral stairway leads guests up to another level of intimacy- there is a very limited area on the upper floor... possibly 1/3 the size of the ground level. But mood of the bar brings visitors back to the old ages, and it's a very laid back place to hang around with some good friends over a drink or two. This is also the place where I tried Killepitsch for the very first time- invented and produced here in Düsseldorf. This dark red/purple (hard to tell due to lighting in the bar) herbal German liqueur is 42% in alcohol, and tasted very sweet/syrupy. It just wasn't my cup of tea (liquor, in this case)... I'm not a fan of the taste but it was worth the try! I give this place three-stars because the tables were super sticky and the seating was cramped and uncomfortable- on top of that I didn't enjoy Killepitsch personally.
