We went as a last minute choice to Elements for my birthday. Cassia welcomed us warmly and professionally. We had a great dinner, food was excellent. We were at the Elements Restaurant for the first and last time on August 17th, 2023. The restaurant gave us the impression that it served fine dining. In fact, the food was average at best. The lobster ravioli were drowning in sauce and didn't taste like lobster at all. However, they were very expensive. The pasta with lamb tasted ok, but some pieces tasted too much like stables. People with a gluten intolerance are really asked to pay: we had to pay an additional $5 for the gluten-free pasta and two slices of bread. The bread that came with it was dry and toasted to death, perhaps to hide how old the bread is. The non-alcoholic Pina Colada was very tasty, although it tasted too much of coconut and not enough pineapple. The Elements is by no means child- or baby-friendly, which is quite different from what we have come to know in Canada. Because when we asked for a way to change our 1 year old son's diaper, we were only assured that there were no options in the washrooms or anywhere else. We were supposed to change diapers in the car if we didn't have a room at the hotel to change them (we didn't have a room). At least they had a high chair. Unfortunately, the service is anything but good. It starts with the waitress barely understanding a word of English. The culmination of the visit to the Elements ended with us wanting to pay and she put the bill on the table with the card payment machine and went on to chat with her colleague. Unfortunately, we had to interrupt you during the conversation because we didn't want to pay by card but in cash. When we told her how much we wanted to pay with a tip (just over 10% because we weren't particularly satisfied, let alone satiated), the waitress quickly got rude. She first had to go to her colleague to complain about how little tip we give, whereupon he also reacted pissed and then to the front desk to bring us the remaining change. When we left and loudly wished everyone a nice evening, we were both briefly looked at, but completely ignored. Dietary restrictions: It is offered gluten-free, but not everything and only with a horrendous surcharge. Parking: Since the restaurant is located directly in the hotel building, there are sufficient parking spaces. Kid-friendliness: There are high chairs. There are no opportunities to change diapers. The two entrance doors cannot be opened automatically, so they are not very pram-friendly.
