Recently had catering from El Mero Mero and it was a pleasant experience. Kate was prompt in her responses and had made the process very easy. Arturo was friendly and quick with setting up. I contacted them around the holidays so I wasn’t optimistic about getting catering last minute for a Christmas party, but they made it work! Thank you to the entire team. Our staff loved the tacos. I especially appreciate that the tacos are halal and gluten free. They were fresh and delicious. Will certainly be recommending them to other businesses/individuals. Amazing little taco/mexican restaurant tucked away in a place you likely wouldn't just come across. El Mero Mero Taqueria is located on 156st and 122ave and kind of tucked away in a semi industrial area. I was very surprised when we drove by it one Saturday after running errands on the west side. I've seen El Mero on social media but never really knew where it was and it's not a spot you would just "walk by" on a "oh what should we eat today" stroll. Anyways we kept the location and restaurant in mind and ended up visiting it on a date night. My first thoughts when I walked through the door was "oh this is fun!" The restaurant is very vibrant, displays some fun Mexican art and culture and has a side wall of local products and merchandise. We ended up ordering the tortialla chip and dip platter, the 10 taco platter and a drink for each of us. So I'm not gonna lie, I was skeptical about whether or not the tacos would be enough (as some places have smaller tacos) but I was absolutely WRONG! The fish tacos especially were a huge suprise! This wasn't just a couple pieces of nugget fish, it was large whole piece of deliciously batter fish. In hindsight, I probably could have just had a single order of the fist tacos (3 tacos) and been very very satiated. We ordered a couple of the vegetarian tacos (my partner is vegetarian), the fish tacos and the pastor. We were a huge fan of all the tacos except the fried cactus ones, and this might just be cause we have never had fried cactus before so it just wasn't our thing. Our server was lovely and she answered so many of my questions. Fun things about El Mero that might further persuade you to go and visit: * They take reservations * They have a patio in the summer * They have a large menu of drinks and fun margaritas to try * Tacos come with 3 levels of hot sauce We will definitely be going back to El Mero soon. There were so many other tacos, and dessert (we were both way to full), that I didn't get to try. Highly recommend!
