It's unbelievable the prices that are being quoted these days. A scoop of ice cream costs two euros, or two scoops cost €1.50 per scoop. You will be punished if you only take one scoop of ice cream by having to pay €0.50 more. Drink prices have also risen significantly, a 0.3 liter beer costs €5. But you can enjoy the blazing sun because there are no more parasols. This was my last visit for now. Food: 1 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 4

We were visiting Hildesheim today and visited the Café Engelke at the town hall in Hildesheim. Notices on the ground floor announced that there was coffee and cake upstairs. The ambience upstairs was very nice. However, the service was hopelessly overwhelmed. She often went from table to table and asked who ordered what. The selection of cakes was underground. There were two types of cake! The coffee came after 20 minutes, the apple pie after about 45 minutes! It tasted like thawed factory cake. I expect a different quality in a Böckeramtshaus and a café with a bakery. The toilets weren't very clean either. There was no hand soap. The other guests at the other tables also complain. Orders were delivered incorrectly. The apple strudel was cold. In Hanover I know Café Engelke as a good bakery. But after today's experience, I'd rather go somewhere else.
