There is something seriously magical about Dotty's. My lucky son got a job working as a dish washer at Dotty's last spring, and he would come home after shifts talking about the incredible killer food. (Gotta love Jay and Susan for giving the opportunity to be part of their team AND sharing the food magic with our teenage boy! THANK YOU! ) I was trying to figure out how this small restaurant was so buzzing and how their simple menu with things like "Cheese and crackers" and hamburgers could elicit such WOW factor. It was something I just didn't understand. So finally curiosity got the better of me and my husband and I went for dinner. O M G. I get it now. Dotty's has a very special vibe. But it's hard to put in words. There is a kind of quality and finesse to this place that is almost undefinable but this finesse and quality dominates the entire experience. Like there is a purity, simplicity and dare I say PERFECTION ? to the dishes. I ordered a mocktail because I couldn't resist homemade ginger beer, and it was unlike any drink I've ever had. Delicious, spicey beautifully presented- major wow factor. The food felt CLEAN which is also a word I would use to describe the overall experience - there is attention to every detail. The place is spotless but not at all sterile. I truly enjoyed watching the waitstaff tending to guests and flipping tables between visitors. CARE really permeates every action here. Like every single team member understands the level of care and finesse that is needed. The atmosphere is Simple, Elegant, Clean, Very High Caliber and Up Scale without any pretentiousness. I was VERY impressed. Yup. I get it now. These are seriously charmed chefs and staff. And I laugh with delight when my son comes home and states that our glassware coming out of the dishwasher would never pass the Dotty's test! Fantastic side benefit! :-) This restaurant and their whole team is amazing. A gift to the neighbourhood and city. THANK YOU JAY, SUSAN and everyone! :-)

Favourite place in Toronto.
Wonderful owners and staff, fabulous cocktails, amazing food.
We had squid, shrimp, steak, fries and a bacon sandwich that wasn’t just a bacon sandwich but the best pork belly ever.
We love Dotty’s!!
