Shocking mistake and lack of apology I consciously decided to eat with you because, as a vegan, I attach great importance to a healthy, purely plant-based diet. Full of anticipation, I ordered a vegan bowl and looked forward to enjoying it. But in the middle of eating, I suddenly noticed a strange consistency and a taste that didn't match. I was horrified to realize that it was a piece of meat that ended up in my bowl due to improper hygiene. I was shocked and deeply disgusted. I immediately spat the piece out & showed it to the staff on the tray to address the error. But instead of receiving understanding or a sincere apology, all I got was a half-hearted "Yes, I'm sorry" in response. No solution, no replacement, no effort to make amends for the incident - instead, the employee seemed disinterested and more focused on her end of work (she continued cleaning because it was shortly before closing time) than on my concern. For me that was a complete breach of trust. As a vegan, it is not only a personal decision for me, but also a fundamental expectation that my food is free of animal products - especially if it is labeled as vegan!! Not only was this expectation disappointed, but my concerns as a customer were also completely ignored. I ended up stuck with a meal I couldn't continue eating and still had to pay full price. This incident was not only disappointing to me, but disrespectful. Mistakes can happen, but dealing with them shows how seriously a restaurant takes its guests - and here I was simply let down. I was at "dean&david" for the first time yesterday and was pleasantly surprised by both the food and the drinks. The Veggie Buddha Bowl I ordered tasted excellent. The portion was so big that I couldn't finish it. Highlights include the extremely delicate whole grain rice, the tasty vegetables and various aromatic dressings. I also enjoyed the freshly squeezed orange juice and the morning dew tea from “Ronnefeldt”. However, in my opinion the drinks were too expensive, especially since it is (more or less) a self-service shop. I would definitely like to visit “dean&david” again.
