Had lunch here for my birthday, super nice and warm welcome. Delicious dishes with fantastic taste sensations, matching wine arrangement, truly a great experience. We enjoyed it! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

The Provenier is located in a convenient location with a parking garage in front of the door behind the Schiedam theater. (Convenient provided the parking garage is not full). We were welcomed by a friendly man who single-handedly operated the front house all evening. He did this with finesse and even when something went wrong and 4 other tables had to be served, he resolved it without batting an eyelid. A real expert in his profession. Since we didn't want to drink wine, he offered to make non-alcoholic cocktails for us. The result was very tasty and not too sweet. The use of lemongrass, star anise and cinnamon made both the raspberry and the mango/passion fruit mocktails extra tasty. Definitely worth a try. The 5-course dinner with appetizers and pre-dessert were all delicious. Although the kitchen occasionally made some mistakes. I thought it was a nice touch that they make their own bread. We received 2 different sandwiches with special additions. In one; beetroot and goat cheese and the other; sunflower seeds and old Rotterdam cheese. With the starter with scallop, apple and lychee, the sorbet on top was much too sweet, which took away from the subtle flavor of the scallop. In addition, the fruit was not well distributed throughout the scallop mixture. The squid tagliatelle was very tasty and original. Next came a chicken rouleaux, unfortunately the meat was a bit dry. The final savory dish was picanha (beef tail) from which the fat had been trimmed, such a shame but understandable as not everyone likes a fatty edge. The garlic and onion puree was quite strong, tasty but I thought it was mashed potatoes because it was made the same. Which meant I had a little too much garlic in one bite. The pre-dessert of strawberry ice cream in the shape of a lollipop with chocolate and rice crispies was tasty and fun. Only the first lollipop we received was still liquid on the inside. The second time it was perfect. The dessert consisted of different textures of biscuit crumbs, coconut meringue, mango, pannacotta, a ball of what looked like something with buttermilk and sponge cake.
