We decided to eat together with all our members of our carnival group at De Neus in Hombeek. What started as a fun outing among friends ended in pure horror. We entered this chain with 9 members. First of all, they didn't have our reservation noted and there was no room when we arrived. The owner (a very gruff and unkempt man) quickly grabbed some tables and chairs together and there we were, pushed into a corner with 9 people in a place where a maximum of 5 people can sit, crammed on top of each other. When we looked at the menu we were first pleasantly surprised, lots of choice and pleasant dishes, we thought. When we placed the order the maid told us we had a maximum of 3! could order different dishes since they only have one chef who is still in training. After a long discussion we decided which 3 dishes we wanted to order. Tagliatelli Bolognaise, Vol-au-vent with lettuce & fries and Scampi from the Chef. After ordering it was waiting, waiting and more waiting. There was only one table occupied and yet we had to wait 1.45 hours for the dishes. Meanwhile, very strange music could be heard in the background, a foul smell emerged and there was a lot of shouting and swearing in the kitchen between the owner, maid and cook, unprecedented scenes. When the plates arrived, we were stunned. The 9 of us were presented with a plate one by one that made you think "I'm not eating this". Tiny portions and poor quality. This was really full size. We decided not to eat this any further and leave. However, this was beyond the owner's control. This man flew from behind the counter and started cursing us, saying, among other things, "get out of here." What customer service! Distressing conditions.
