My recent visit to Strandcafé De Meiden in Brielle was unfortunately a big disappointment. I ordered a carpaccio, but what I was served was far below standard. The carpaccio seemed to have been left out of the refrigerator for far too long; the edges were discolored and dried out, and the meat itself was an unappealing brown color. When clearing the table, the waitress asked if everything was to your liking. I then politely indicated that I was dissatisfied with the carpaccio. She suggested having a new one prepared, but since my table companions had already finished their meal, that made little sense to me. However, to my great surprise, the carpaccio was still on the bill. When I mentioned this, the response was simply, "We offered to prepare a new one." This answer shows little understanding of good service and customer satisfaction. All in all, my experience at Strandcafé De Meiden was very disappointing. The quality of the cuisine left much to be desired, and the service was downright poor. No reason for me to come back here again.
