DELICIOUS!!! The best curry wurst I have had since I was in Berlin last year. Not only was the wurst delicious, the service was so kind and friendly PLUS they take credit cards/Apple Pay. I also like that they'll adjust how spicy (or not) you'd like your wurst. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: €1–10 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

When we moved to the Hamburg region 16 years ago and were looking for a decent currywurst, we ended up here pretty quickly. Due to Corona, the renovation and other circumstances, we haven't had a currywurst here for almost two years. I don't know whether the snack bar is still called Curry Grindel. It only says takeaway outside. When we arrived in perfect weather, Saturday, 7 degrees, hardly any wind or sun, only 2 tables were occupied. My gut feeling kicked in and said: Well, is that still something? So get in the butze. What kind of hipster shack is that? As a father, I have little use for the charm of a backyard toilet smeared with Sharpie. It's just Sudent: inside and outside quarters. Must be so. A quick look around - there is probably no menu with prices. I confidently order curry fries from the I PIT MY PANTS behind the counter. I saw them at one of the tables outside. After the usual question about onions and spicy, my gut feeling calmed down a bit. Since poor preparation is the new way to freshly prepared things and what felt like a lack of enthusiasm is a way of slowing down, I received my Assi plate in my hand after just 15-20 minutes, despite the empty shop. Great! I was excited to find out the name of the shop on the receipt when I was ready to pay. The next thing that shocked me was the price for the rather measly portion of onions. 8€ Well, it has become more expensive everywhere and according to Ms. Lagard, inflation is only temporary. In these circles, the missing receipt is probably sold as a green highlight and has nothing, absolutely nothing, to do with the end of the day. I have no idea what kind of store that is. Wasn't there something with a receipt that was mandatory. Ok, despite all the frustration, I was looking forward to my creation. Either Hose grabbed the wrong sauce (can happen) or well. That wasn't even girly. The fries were as I knew them. I would like to come back for that. The sausage was standard like everywhere and no comparison to before. Also, there doesn't seem to be any different types of sausage anymore. Whether there is still a selection of dips for the fries and fresh salads. No idea. What bothered me about the composition was a biting Maggi taste. I'm not sure if this came from the curry powder in the sausage or the seasoning salt in the fries. All in all, the store is only a shadow of its former self and nothing compared to before the conversion. I should have listened to my gut feeling. The second star for the really excellent fries. But you don't really have to go there for that. It's a real shame about the store. I always loved being here. p.s. The drinks koberei is really annoying. Food: 2 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
