Advantages. E: The Pacific Bowl was a better choice than I had anticipated. I picked it because I wanted a ready-made salad bowl that was relatively healthy and it turned out to be their second best option calorie-wise. Only the 'Zen' salad bowl has less calories. Compare that with the 'Pan-Asian,' which packs as many calories in a salad as a Big Mac. To stick with Cultures' marketing parlance they call Pacific, Zen, California, Miami and so forth 'Cultures Bowls.' The chain also sells salad from a bar with multiple choices, quiches, wraps, sandwiches, soup and smoothies.
The Pacific bowl was nicely done with tuna, tomatoes, cucumbers, red onions, basil and black olives and was topped by an appropriate poppy seed sauce. What also really paid off was the warm bed of brown rice on which all of it sat. Some combinations just work! Incidentally, why does a 'Pacific' salad bowl contain black olives? Being a fan I am not complaining however.
The salad bowl was $8 (they would tell you $7.99), which is reasonable - especially in the PATH where everything is dear.

A: Cultures looks exactly as any cafeteria in Canada does. The cheap furniture, cheap lighting, cutlery and trash station, ever-present fridge selling pop and dubious fruit juice were here accompanied by the boom box on top of the said glass door beverage refrigerator. Classical music was booming out of it.
The other reason to pick Cultures, aside from the food and the modest price (for the area) is that compared to the Korean next door, and nearly everything else in the area, a mob had not gathered outside and offered seating and a very short queue. My co-diner grabbed food from another business and enjoyed it there before we dashed away.
-
T: As mentioned, the number of customers were modest compared to other fast food outlets in the vicinity, but that translated to a shorter wait time. The salad was ready and paid for in less than five minutes. Tables were available and clean.
-
S: The lady making the salad was prompt and responsive. The cashier was thankful for the purchase.
Cultures is part of the conglomerate that owns and operates everything in Canada (Mr Sub, Thai Zone, Van Houte, Kim*chi, Thai Express, Jugo Juice, Sushi Shop and many more) so they have a streamlined offering. Interestingly, there is a Sushi Shop two doors down where people can purchase dubiously constructed kushi from the corporation.
