One must prepare themselves, for the court is dark and full of terrors. Little coin needed to enjoy simple but rewarding fare. Be wary for it is not a simple stroll. Lines of carts and folk as far as the eye can see. This is not a task for a solitary traveler, nay, it is best to tackle it as a two person quest. One to retrieve the food safely, another to secure a table. The latter will become like a shadow, waiting for the right moment to pounce (and securing napkins and condiments). He or she should also be heavily equipped with sanitary cloths or wipes to clean down the food battlefield. The other will need a strong back and good balance, not just to stand for what feels like an eternity, but to bring the food to the table, carefully making way around hoards of children, large families and the unmoving elderly. What a hero indeed. Making it back safely, now the food is blissfully consumed and the sounds of the busy crowd is muted as if it had some sort of magical property to do so. Leaving the chaos behind, the cycle will start again.
Cheap Hot Dogs & Drink. Pros:
1. Cheap hot dog & drink combo
2. Huge servings of fries - served hot and crispy
3. Healthy alternatives offered - currently offers a beef tenderloin wrap with kale and quinoa
4. Huge servings of ice cream - rivals BDI in terms of creaminess and beats them for value.
5. Hot dog condiments are served pre-packaged and no longer exposed to flies and the general public.
6. The poutine is made using actual cheese curds and not mozzarella like most fast food places.
Cons:
1. Tables can be disgustingly dirty.
2. Cash only.
3. It can be hard to find an open table and when you do, it's likely dirty.
4. Since everything is so cheap, it's easy to exceed your recommended daily caloric intake in one sitting (ie: hot dog, pop, poutine and ice cream).
5. During busy times, the line up can be long (but it goes quick) to order and there can be a crowd around the window waiting for food.
Overall it's a convenient place to grab a quick meal. I like to go there for the ice cream.
