I don't typically care enough to review every place I go to, but days later and I'm still thinking about how bad of an experience this was. We came here for our engagement celebration and things started off bad from the get-go. For one, we waited 5 minutes at the "please wait" sign at the front door and no one noticed us or showed up to welcome us, we got impatient and went in to let them know we've been waiting and they seemed surprised, mind you, we had a reservation at this place and were there on time. They then tell us to wait a bit and they'll get us seated only to wait another minute or two. I can understand being busy on a Friday night, but that's just now you expect a fine dine experience to start off. We were then seated next to a large group on a round table, who were naturally going to be loud to be around, so we politely asked if we could be seated elsewhere but they didn't have room, that's fine, busy Friday night so we completely understand. However, the positioning of this huge round table is less than ideal in my opinion. I want to especially highlight it because there's 3 tables that are for couples, and in the middle is this big table that supports 6+ people, it's simply not ideal. I've been to this place before a very long time ago and I have to say things seem to have regressed quite a bit. In regards to the meals we had, I don't remember the exact names but they were extremely underwhelming. I had one of the steak options and it was tasteless and dry, I've looked at pics of other reviewers and I see the same meal I had and it looks a lot better than what I received, the mashed potatoes it came with were good tho. My fiance's meal on the other hand was below average, the risotto was so bad it was left pretty much untouched and the steak it came with was not visually pleasing, however it did taste ok. We even let the server know we're celebrating so it would have been nice to get a little bit of extra care in regards to the food. Like I said earlier, I can see in other reviews the meals we got and they look much better than what we were served. This is simply unacceptable for the price you pay. You can get alot tastier elsewhere in Windsor that will leave you with a memorable experience. On a positive note, the appetizers we had were good! Visited The Cook's Shop for my wife's birthday and had a wonderful experience. Carlos was our server—attentive, friendly, and made sure we were well taken care of throughout the evening. For the appetizer, I had the grilled calamari. It was perfectly tender and came with two sauces: one layered beneath the squid and another served on the side, both adding great flavor contrast. For the main course, I chose the scaloppine piccata. The risotto it came with was creamy, rich, and packed with mushrooms—absolutely delicious. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4 Price per person: $100+

September 22, 2021 we had the most fantastic dinner experience. The house salad was light and flavourful. We had Tortelini / cavatelli and beef stroganoff simply amazing. Dessert, We shared the to die for …carrot cake and chocolate salted caramel tart. Fabulous staff, super friendly and knowledgeable!! Will definitely return.
