Very authentic Shanghainese food. The place is operated by a family originally from Shanghai. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Would highly recommend Shanghai soup dumplings, pan fried pork buns, wonton soup and Shaomai. A great place to go when I am craving for my hometown’s food. Colour See See 上海本色 has authentic Shanghai food in Greater Vancouver. This place is a family operation. They have a limited menu, but they prepare everything freshly handmade. With their open-concept kitchen, you can see for yourself. Our favourites are:Sheng Jian Bao (Pan-Fried Shrimp Bun, 生煎包) - The wrapper has a lovely soft texture with a golden, crispy base. The filling is very flavoursome and moist. Everything was so delicious. Shanghai Siu Mai (Siu Mai with Sticky Rice, 糯米燒賣) - Each steamed Siu Mai looks like a pomegranate and has a wide opening at the top. The texture and flavour delight your taste buds. Super delicious! We will come back for more. Colour See See is located right across from Metropolis at Metrotown in Burnaby. If you are looking for a traditional Shanghai-style restaurant, you should BOOKMARK this place. Food: 4/5 Should Try! Service: 4/5 Kids: 4/5 Yay!
