Sat at a table of 8 on the roof terrace with colleagues. We all ordered at the bar hut at pretty much the same time. First burger came out quickly (around 5 to 10mins), 3 more about 10 minutes later, 1 just after that. The last two, mine and a colleague's never showed.
We waited 40 minutes watching burgers arrive at tables that were empty when we were ordering. The table behind us received two burgers that looked suspiciously like our missing order but the waiter insisted that ours were coming. The waiter seemed to dish out burgers to whoever he saw fit, not really checking orders were correct before dropping them off and leaving to fetch the next batch.
Our colleagues had all comfortably finished their meals and we were still waiting for ours to arrive. Eventually an hour passed and we had had enough so went to get a refund as we had to pay in advance. When the manager looked into it she found that our suspicions were correct and our burgers were delivered to the wrong table. She blamed the system and the couple at the other table but all it would have taken was for the waiter to check before dropping burgers off willy nilly. To top it off she couldn't work out how to do a refund on the card machine so had to give us cash.
Considering we had been waiting for so long and the delay was directly caused by a mistake by one of her staff I thought we might at least get our drink refunded too (1x 330ml Fanta) but no... To top it off she didn't have enough change to give my colleague a full refund (asked for 50 cents to be able to give him notes) and he had no coins so I had to give him the change.
So all in all I am still hungry and wasted over an hour and 50 cents down. Great evening. Thanks Chicago Meatpackers Riverside.
