Really nice genuine place with amazing local dishes. Fresh from farm to table. Really good. Evan burgers risotto and fresh juice. Amazing local food A++

My reasoning for three stars is based of of three factors:  boring "gourmet" food, an extremely expensive price tag, and a strange and confusing ambiance. Food: The food was mostly good, but was not on par with other restaurants of this hype and price.  Only 2 dishes were memorable-the dessert, and a potato soup. Most of the courses were plain vegetables, that while served beautifully and elegantly, lacked in flavor. With a vegan and a vegetarian in our family, we have sampled many vegetarian and vegan foods, with exciting flavors, dishes, and plant based substitutes(cashew cheese, nutritional yeast, avocado cream, almond based things, etc...) they had none of this. The chef simply makes well plated vegetables. For a vegetarian restaurant, they used no beans, grains, nor interesting sauces.  I kid you not, one course was a boiled cabbage head, that was lightly baked after being boiled... I am not asking for an organic-avocado cream-sprouted barbecue tofu burger, but I do expect well seasoned and tasty dishes, not minimalist, "haute" style courses. The wine list, however was great. Price: It's expensive. We spent 200 euros for 3 people. Ambiance: Very pretentious for a supposedly down to earth,  rustic place. No tablecloths, homemade centerpieces, wood tables, "hipster" chipped glasses, yet pretentious white glove service, and 8 courses..? I was left confused.

We took a chance and we traveled from Garmisch to Innsbruck for dinner at Chez Nico(45 minutes ride). We were in for a surprise. 7 course meal that just surprised us with every dish. Creative, innovative and most important YUMMY!!! The combination of tastes was sublime, we were amazed one time after another. My husband is vegetarian and I am not, but I didn't feel like meat was necessary, I was happy and content with everything I was served. It is great to experience vegetarian cuisine at it's best. We complemented the chef and left the restaurant reminiscing about dinner...
