Great Checkers. Always fully stocked. Great bakery and fish department. Friendly staff and very hands_ on management. Yet today, 23 June 24, I experienced a totally different place. The different juices had no indication what type of juice it was and no prices. First, label them, then put them on the shelf. Then, buying wine, a packer moved right in front of me. When I asked her to please move her huge trolley, she was super annoyed and extremely unfriendly.

Worse service every !!! If you have a lot of time to kill, visit this Checkers - no problem. If you are in a hurry, rather fo to OK or Pick 'n Pay. The management of this store need to wake up and smell the coffee. They are running this prime spot shop like there is no other options available. I am very close to the point to change over to OK and would have done so a long time ago if it wasn't for the convenience of the location of the store, but I am at my limit of what I can take. Three customers behind me had the same conversation and all of them feel this way. WAKE UP Checkers management!!!!

I was going to pay half on one card and half on another. As I fumbled through my wallet, desperately searching for an alternative payment method, a line of impatient customers began to form behind me. Thankfully, in this moment of panic, two key individuals stepped forward and became the heroes of the day. Let me introduce them - Keitumelse, a warm-hearted cashier with a peaceable countenance, and Velapi, a store manager with a calm demeanour and problem-solving skills. Without hesitation, Keitumelse reassured me with a kind and understanding tone, "These things happen and one day it could happen to me”. Her words instantly put me at ease, and I felt a glimmer of hope amid the chaos. Velapi, observing the situation, quickly assessed the problem. He joined Keitumelse at the checkout counter cancelled my original payment, retracted a few items from my purchases and then I could make the payment afresh with the amount of money that was available on my one card that worked. They patiently guided me through the process, requesting the necessary information and remaining empathetic throughout. Their dedication to helping me resolve this embarrassing situation was evident, and they remained patient. Many times I have had negative experiences with both cashiers and managers in Checkers including frowns, irritated whispers under the breath and all-out rude attitudes, but Valapi and Keitumelse were different. As time passed, the line of waiting customers seemed to disappear into the background. It was as if Valapi and Keitumelse had created a bubble of understanding and support, shielding me from the pressure and anxiety that had initially surrounded me. After what felt like an eternity, the transaction was successfully processed. I breathed a sigh of relief, grateful beyond words for the unwavering assistance provided by Valapi and Keitumelse. I couldn't help but express my gratitude, thanking them profusely for their patience, understanding, and their ability to turn what could have been an incredibly stressful situation into a manageable one. Their genuine kindness and professionalism shone through the entire ordeal, leaving a lasting impression on me. Their teamwork, problem-solving skills, and willingness to go above and beyond their duties to assist a customer in need truly exemplified the outstanding service provided by the shop. As I left the store that day, not only with my purchases but also with a renewed faith in humanity, I couldn't help but think how fortunate I was to have encountered such remarkable individuals. Valapi and Keitumelse displayed unwavering dedication to customer satisfaction is a testament to their exceptional character and the positive impact they have on Checkers Emfuleni and its customers.
