Disappointment! Mussel souté arrived cold. We had ordered two tonnarelli with clams and one arrived cold, while the other was fortunately lukewarm but 15 minutes after the first. For a starter we also had a focaccia but it was served after the first tonnarello and shortly before the other was served (but it was good at least). A lunch in installments. Yesterday my partner and I ended up at Castello Miramare by chance and I would like to start from the end. I'll start from the end because only at the end were we able to smile about our adventure in this corner of Fregene where even last minute bookings on Sunday exist. At the end of our lunch, in fact, thanks to the bitters (hot and without ice), a playful and fun situation had been created to witness: the person in charge of the bongo, who accompanied us throughout the lunch, at a certain point passed between the tables with the microphone trying to get the diners to sing. Some were more in tune than others. We deviate from the music and the post-lunch event and talk about food and service: after sitting down, it didn't take long for my partner and I to realize we were surrounded by disgruntled and nervous diners. Everyone was waiting for something and no one was eating. The waiters were also responsible for shrugging their shoulders to justify the delays in the kitchen where, a bit like what happens at roulette, it is clear that chance reigns supreme. Whoever orders first doesn't receive first! The first courses: my dish arrives and shortly after that of my partner and then that of her little son who, as we had asked, we would have liked to have arrived before ours given the time. The pasta I must say is quite tasty. The fried food: greasy and greasy, brought without saucers for us and when we asked for more lemon the waiter replied: "I WILL TRY". Clearly the lemon never arrived. Side dish: we also ordered the caponata and it is worth stopping here too. Here there were too many opponents: there was a bottom of oil (a lot of oil) with boiled and slightly seared vegetables on top (a lot of boiled). Plate sent back. It didn't seem like they were surprised when I told them that that wasn't a caponade. In short, I would say that there is a lot of improvisation between service and cuisine and, given the price, it's not really worth it. If you have singing ambitions after Sunday lunch I recommend it.
