Date 2023-02-02 Thursday ca. 18:15 I wanted to have Dinner, but unfortunately a 'real' Restaurant close to my Guest House didn't open until 20:00. So I strolled through Town, but for me there was no real Alternative. On my Way there wasn't even a 'Pastaria' to find. Hello !? Am I in Sicily / 'Eataly' or aren't am I !? Pizza I already had the Evening before, and on my Way were only Eateries that offered mainly for younger Audience 'Mainstream' Food (mostly Hamburgers). The 'Caribù' generally was no Exception, but by now I had to use the Lavatory ... and they had 'Erdinger' Wheat Beer on Tap. Apart from that I liked the Music that was playing ('The Cure', 'Greenday' etc.). .. So first I went to the Lavatory ... and then 'refilled' a Beer ;-) For me Hamburgers are nothing else than Buns with Meatballs. As a now elderly Man, I can't understand the 'Hype' about this 'Food' at all. Even when the first 'McDonalds' opened in Germany about 50 years ago, I found this Stuff just horrid and overpriced. BUT here in the 'Caribu' they offer Hamburgers with Buffalo Meat, Deer, Donkey or Horse. Eating Horsemeat in Germany traditionally is frowned upon: In a Society that was heavily militarized for Centuries, no Conscript, no Soldier, no Veteran would have even thought of eating his Mate - A for the Army needed Beast of Burden, Draft or Riding Animal. 'War Horse' directed by Steven Spielberg is a Movie describing this special Relationship. If not died in Duty often these Animals were given Bread of Grace, and when they died of natural Reasons mostly they were processed into Dog Food. And Dogs were / still are in use for military Purposes too. Howsoever, I discussed with the very friendly young Waiter (who speaked english quite good) if I could receive my Meal on a Plate together with Cutlery. He did not fully respond to my 'Trinity' Request (Meat, Side Dish, Vegetables) and so (a slightly modified) 'Piatti' (Plate) No. 2 was served ... I would have liked to have also a few Ingredients from a Hamburger 'Kit', such as Tomatoes, Cucumber Slices, Lettuce Leaves, but apparently that didn't work or there was a Lack of Communication. Anyway, I found the 'pulled' and obviously slightly sour dressed Horsemeat interesting. A little less Oil would have been good, but all in all it was O.K. Despite the great Friendliness of the Waiter, my Rating is 'only' 4.2 (therefore) 4 Stars, which is just because I don't really correspond to the Target Group of this Restaurant really. P.S.: Strange, although I belong to the 'Sex and Drugs and Rock 'n Roll' Generation of the 70's, now I feel kind of 'old'... Well, soon probably also Mick Jagger will perfom on Stage in a Wheelchair ;-)
