The essence of a good restaurant lies not only in its food but also in the atmosphere and experience it provides. At Restaurant Cardo, we were thrilled to find the latter. Nestled in the beautiful old town of Poreč, it held a promise for my father's birthday celebration - a promise it indeed fulfilled. Our party of six unanimously approved of the mussels we ordered as starters. The serving size was adequate, and the flavor was spot-on, a delightful opener for our feast. My choice, the risotto with shrimps, was a particular standout. It was perfectly cooked, a testament to the chef's skill, with the ingredients harmonizing into a tantalizing symphony of taste. As the evening progressed, the restaurant’s singer with his guitar ascended the stairs, his soothing voice wafting down, adding another layer of charm to our dining experience. This harmony of fine dining, excellent ambiance, and live music rendered our visit unforgettable. Restaurant Cardo is a good reminder that sometimes one should trust their instinct over online reviews. It's a place where we lived our own experience, which was certainly delightful. The only thing preventing a full 5-star rating was a hint of something amiss, something ineffable, but the overall experience was so enjoyable that it barely registers as a complaint.
