I’ve visited Cantina Valentina three times now, and it’s been a bit of a mix, though mostly positive! My first visit was for a business lunch, and we shared a variety of dishes that were absolutely delicious. The chicharrones, in particular, were a standout—crispy and flavorful, they quickly became my favorite. My second visit was on a Sunday around lunchtime, and it didn’t go as smoothly. I was looking forward to their all-day menu, but it turned out we could only order from the brunch menu, which was a bit disappointing. I found the brunch options too heavy and lacking in vegetables, so it just didn’t hit the mark for me. A little more clarity about the menu timing would have helped set expectations. The third visit brought things back around! I tried the lima ceviche, which was fresh and delicious, and the pisco sour was a nice highlight. The duck was a bit dry for my taste, but the rice and dessert made up for it. Overall, it’s a solid spot for Peruvian food, and I’m sure I’ll be back for more! Just a few tweaks here and there, and it could be even better. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: €60–70 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

I came to eat here two nights in a row as I enjoyed the first night so much. The “duck on rice” was fantastic, cooked perfectly with a lot of flavour, and texture of the rice was very good. I had the chocolate dessert to finish, which was exceptional - a chocolate lover’s dream. The “Peru Chardonnay” was extremely citrusy however and and it tasted more like a cheap Sauvignon blanc than a premium Chardonnay - I actually wondered if the waiter had served me the wrong wine, it was awful. On the 2nd night I had the prawn croquettes which were delicious, and the mussels. The mussels were very fresh, but EXTREMELY spicy. I struggled to finish eating them which was a little disappointing. This time I played it safe with a classic margarita and it was great. Service was friendly, but quite slow - although I was not overly hungry so it wasn’t an issue. Highly recommend this place but if you are not a lover of spicy food, check with your waiter before ordering. Experience with ups and downs in this restaurant inside the Hoxton. The starters were quite good. But then as a main my crunchy duck was enjoyable but the risotto was really not fitting the rest. The Aubergine was good but the sauce was having a very strong lemon flavour, killing all the tastes. The Pisco sour was ok but not incredibly good. Prices on the expensive side. Might try it again in some years hoping for an improvement. Food: 3 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4
