Service: 2 Location: 2
I can really recommend Camp Gabrje to all nature-loving campers with a clear conscience. First of all, the location: The camp is located directly on the banks of the beautiful Izonso (Soča). There are pitches in the first row with an indescribably beautiful view, shady pitches under trees with power connections in the second row and also enough meadow space for campers without electricity or with a correspondingly long cable drum (> 100m). There are no fixed plots, the pitches are sufficiently large and you can choose your own. Facilities: The camp has everything you need for camping. There are sanitary facilities, a bar, a snack bar (breakfast, dinner), power connections, washing machines, drying racks, a small sand-filled soccer field/beach volleyball court, some entrances to the river with small sun loungers, WiFi (reception sufficient, although during our visit... September the camp was rather sparsely attended), washing stations for dishes, a garbage area... You can hike from the camp, rent kayaks directly at the camp and have a paragliding landing site right on your doorstep. Further up in town there is also the option to rent e-bikes. The staff here was always very friendly and our reservation was absolutely uncomplicated. Regarding the sanitary facilities: They are absolutely functional, very simple and outdated. But it was always clean. There are only 4 showers and 4 toilets, which is certainly not enough in the high season. But for us (beginning/mid-September) there was nothing to complain about. The water was warm at all times of the day, the showers were free and we never had to wait in line. The only drawback: There are no storage options in or in front of the showers, just a few hooks. A few shelves would really be desirable, as women usually have a little more than just a towel with them We were very satisfied with our stay here in the camp and we would come back at any time. Most people only stay for a few days and then move on. We were here for 10 days and it was just beautiful! Nearby activities: Hiking, paragliding, canoeing, rafting, cycling. Walkability: Swimming areas and hiking trails can be reached directly from the camp. Food & drinks: Fries and beer were really delicious!
