Ok so they small and they full , so what- WELL PEOPLE DEAL WITH IT BECAUSE ITS A POPULAR PLACE!! We waited a while and got a table , the coffee was GREAT the service was attentive and the food was fresh , granted it may not have looked like the menu description but it wasn't bad at all. We enjoyed the vibe of this sidewalk cafe and hope they go from strength to strength .

Really great place to grab breakfast and lunch. The dishes are unique and the sandwiches are amazing, ice coffee is great too! Will definitely keep coming back.

Cafe Throbb is ridiculously popular in Knysna especially during the peak season. It is almost impossible to get a walk-in table and they do not accept reservations so you have to arrive early or wait it out.
A few times we tried our luck but left disappointed as it was full so when we finally got a small table in the corner we were very excited. We tried to order breakfast but were told they had already packed the breakfast items away (twenty minutes before the time on the menu) and when we brought this up with the waitress she became very rude. We ordered drinks and asked for the bill as we really wanted breakfast. Our drinks were placed roughly on the table, spilled, the bill slammed down in front of us and our waitress turned around and stormed off. We eventually had to ask another waiter to bring the card machine so we could pay. We visited again not wanting one bad waitress with a bad attitude to ruin the experience for us. This time we ordered The Throbba breakfast and the Banana Pancakes. The Pancakes were incredible; filled with chocolate, banana and almond slices and I recommend trying them if you visit Cafe Throbb but again the service was terrible and our waiter was distant and unfriendly.
Although the food is very good and it is such a popular, lively venue we will not be returning purely because of the terrible service we had on two occasions. It's simply not worth it.
