This is not the first time you have received service charges at Cafe Med. Many times. It has nothing to do with the $3 principle. What does this mean?? Throughout Calgary there are no service CHARGES. These are only available at Cafe Med. And not the reason Cafe Med applies a service charge without notifying their customers, which is not a good practice and affects both trust and credibility. Thank you for reaching out and providing feedback regarding my recent visit during the UFC fight. I appreciate the service provided and the efforts of your staff during such busy events. However, I am writing to express my concerns about the service fee that was charged. In Calgary, it is uncommon for restaurants to charge a service fee, and I believe it is important for customers to understand any additional charges applied to their bills. As a customer, I have the right to inquire about and understand the service fees I am being charged. Ensuring transparency and credibility is important for maintaining trust between your establishment and its patrons. I would appreciate it if you could provide more information about the service fee, including why it is applied and if it is a standard practice at your restaurant. The service charge was mentioned and presented on your bill and was shown. As for most places in Calgary when a paid preview of any sport is being hosted at a restaurant, bar, pub etc there is usually a cover fee $20+ …The service charge was mentioned and presented on your bill and was shown. As for most places in Calgary when a paid preview of any sport is being hosted at a restaurant, bar, pub etc there is usually a cover fee $20+ Thank you for expressing your concern as we have acknowledged it. ( As you are a valued customer ) The reason for the charge was due to the fact that we hosted the fight and paid for it so that our customers who enjoy coming here also can watch the fight as well as first comers who are just looking to watch the fight. As per the law, we are not allowed to play the fight on a private website. We did have to reach out to provider to pay for the channel to play the fight on our TV, in which we charged a small percentage in service charge rather than a larger amount in a cover charge.More
