Excellent change from the boring & poorly serviced other 'cocktail bars' in Padua. Dario has a creative & low-priced list of cocktails - averaging between €6 to €10 - all of which keep this summer's heatwave at bay. Its dark interior has plenty of space between tables, clean restroom, wide wide stable tables for actually resting your arms or books on while chatting, comfortable chairs, extensive liquor selection, delicious coffee, seductive illumination... I love it! Dario's handmade accessories & artwork - check out his decorated glass & mirror works - which he sells as a second business are fascinating & impressive. His service is personal, fast & perfect. I'll say it again, his cocktail prices can't be beat. I'm looking forward this autumn (2017) to Dario's planned list of an original series based on serial killers. :) His music varies, & may be a bit heavy for some...but, umm, I don't care to drink with anyone who can't tolerate the music there. LOL New students to the university in fall 2017, tourists, locals looking for a change from the same-old-same-old...I insist you meet me this autumn and winter at Café Lumierè as I work my way through its cocktail list, one or two drinks at a time; & make it your fave hangout. Note, although its specialty is absinthe, don't expect some gimmicky trendy hipster type ice-water dispensing absinthe fountain. They're nice, but the way Dario prepares his cocktails by crushing ice with a smashing pestle in his (latex gloved for hygiene & sex appeal) bare hands is a treat to see and makes the mixes super cold. Don't worry; you'll still see the Green Nymph! LOL Everyone I've met at Café Lumière is pleasant and fascinating to talk with. Find it down the side street near the cinema! Let's make it the best & most successful in Padua's history. Take a look at Dario's other website to preselect from his vast range of original artwork and artisan products; so you can arrange to take some home to spice up your lifestyles.
