Quick Question: Is BUONO MANGIA in Charlottetown, PEI, a racist place? ...because I went into this restaurant on 8/30 at 5pm and asked for a table for one. The restaurant was empty with only 2 couples eating. An older lady came and told me something like "we are not equipped to serve you". Her statement made no sense to me or I did not understand the meaning of her statement. Hence, I asked her, do I need to make a reservation in order to eat here. She said NO. Basically, I did not get any tangible reason why I could not eat at this restaurant on that day. I walked across to the pizza restaurant in the same shopping center, because I was hungry. While there for about 30mins to 1hr eating, I saw only one white couple go into the Italian restaurant and they were served because they did not come out as quickly as I was made to leave. Everyone deserves to be served at any restaurant. Thank you Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

It saddens me that you would jump to such a conclusion because you were turned away. We have a small dining room and prepare our meals to order so we can only accommodate a certain amount of people per half hour. When you arrived at the restaurant there was a Reservation sign on all the tables. My comment to you, as with everyone, was "I'm sorry but I have nothing available right now". When you asked if you needed reservations I replied, again as usual, "Not always but tonight I am booked. I do recommend reservations if you know you are coming, especially on a Friday or Saturday night". Checking back on that night I had six tables booked between 5pm and 6pm, anyone coming in during that time would have had a reservation. Sorry you were unable to be served but it was strictly based on prior reservation, definitely not anything personal. More

Finally got to eat there last after figuring out you better have reservations or you're not likely to get in!! Let me tell you, we were not disappointed! Everything is literally made from scratch, comes to the table piping hot and was so tasty! This is definitely where we'll be going when we have a hankering for Italian food!! Prices are fair and ambiance is wonderful!!
