This small (presumably family owned) bakery was a great find. Arriving in Skopje very early in the morning, we wandered around the neighborhood, searching for a place to have breakfast. This was the only open place, and we entered. The atmosphere reminded me of the plain socialist times minimalistic bakeries. Radio playing in the background, one guest inside, a few tables. We were greeted by a very kind lady, always smiling, hardworking. They specialize in burek and pies, with different filling (meat, cheese, spinach), few varieties of local bagels, called gevrek in Macedonian, and some sweet pastries. They also offer the local simit pogacha. For the first time, I saw filled bagels, with several options. For drinking, they have yogurt and ayran. We ordered the banitsa (similar pie to burek), with a cup of yogurt. The lady cut it and served it on a plate. Delicious, not at all greasy dough, filled with cheese. Very satisfied overall. Will come again for sure if I am in this part of Skopje.
