Located at 18-22 Problem Mkhize Road (formerly Cowey Road), The Bread Mill has become a Durban landmark with its enticing baked goods attracting locals as well as visitors from afar. Voted Durban’s No.1 Bakery by The Daily News, The Bread Mill has consistently provided quality baked goods since it was established in 1987. One major change The Bread Mill has undergone in three decades has been the extension of its hours – the bakery is now open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

After having 2 terrible experiences with The Bread Mill I decided to give it 1 last try and it was awesome. We ordered a cake for my son’s birthday and everything from the initial call to actually getting the cake was a breeze! Lungi did a an amazing job at explaining everything to us and making sure our order was correct, even though it was short notice. Lungi is a star and has renewed my faith in The Bread Mill’s abilities. Service: 5

Son's birthday was on the 12.11.2022. Cake order was placed on the 6.11.2022, was suppose to be a dinosaur pic on the cake.. We was told that the cake will be ready by 8.30am on the 12.11.2022. We got there on time and said we are here to pick up the cake. No one saying anything. We asked again is there cake ready we here to pick up. Some are saying they will check upstairs. Eventually, we followed the manager upstairs, and when we got there.... we were furious to see that the cake was not ready. no icing on it and what was frustrating was that there was no communication at all. They blamed it on a load shedding that they could not print a dinosaur pic. But there are no load shedding currently. So up till now now sure whats the real reason for not having the cake ready. Whats worse its a 24 hr shop. They dont close. So we settled with a simple looking cake with icing for a Dinosaur party.
