Today we went to Hohe Düne. This is the right side of Warnemünde with the yacht harbor/marina. Really beautifully laid out, in an Italian style with lots of wood and around the harbor you can sit outside on the wooden steps and watch the yachts. Unfortunately there is a lack of greenery. But I think with the wind that's constantly blowing, it's just not feasible. And it was really windy and really cold there in March. The building in the marina is a hotel. Inside, everything looks very elegant, dark wood, a few exclusive shops and the Brasserie restaurant. Since everything looked so inviting, we tested the brasserie. At lunchtime we were some of the few guests. The entire time we were there there were only 3 tables occupied. There were 3 waitresses. One is probably currently in training. She was left alone with us. Was nice, unsure, but tried hard. The starter still worked but the main course still wasn't there after an hour and a half. Nobody came by during the whole time. We then asked and suddenly everything was on the table within 2 minutes. The starter was supposed to be a Caesar salad: too little dressing, which was also mushy, the chicken strips were 4 cm thick fillets and dry. The slices of bread were so toasted that you couldn't eat them - bone hard. The beef broth was really good and seemed homemade, but was extremely too dark for me (caramel or burnt onions?). The marrow dumplings were good. The vegetables and chives were carved into infinitely long, thin noodles and were therefore impossible to put on a spoon, and their shape gave you the feeling of chewing on tough grass. The main course was put down, we looked at it and was allowed to be cleared away again straight away. Potato pancakes were like dried out rubber and the meat was half raw (we ordered it through). Only now did the main waitress come, apologize and offer a replacement, but we really missed it. Toilets are there in the basement. No natural light/windows. Continuous light. Clean.
