I don't doubt that the food is good here because the reviews are so good - plus my friend had a hamburger that she loved. But I ordered the waffle/fried chicken meal and the syrup (which the meal was soaking in) was infused with powdered garlic. I was only able to get a couple of bites down - and even after eating so little of it, I had a strong garlic aftertaste for 2 days. I should have sent it back and order something else but I'm a wimp when it comes to complaining. The menu did say something about there being honey infused with chipotle and garlic (which I assumed would be drizzled over the chicken), but I didn't realize the entire meal (waffles included) would be soaking in this sauce (which honestly just tasted like maple syrup with garlic powder) Anyway, if you don't like garlic syrup then I'd advise against this option. If this does sound good to you then know that the chicken was cooked well and the portion was generous. Meal type: Brunch Price per person: CA$30–40 Food: 1 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Blue Star Diner is a great local spot — the food is consistently delicious, and it’s easy to see why it’s always busy. They’re licensed, so you can enjoy a drink with your meal, and they’re also a NEO partner, which means you can earn some nice cash back as part of their loyalty program.
