The rooms were dirty with dust and the beds- bunkbeds- were small and not even nailed in when we arrived. When we reported this, the bunkbed was switched out, but still swayed side to side at any movement on the top bunk. Basically it would literally collapse if you moved in the night. The restaurant gave my 3 year old child an allergic reaction too and the food is gross. The wifi is bad too, and the toilets in everyones rooms smelled like rotten eggs and ‘farts’. I was not impressed. If i could give this place a 0 star rating i would. Also, when sitting on the bottom bunk above my child i saw smears that looked suspiciously like human faeces. The only good thing about this place was A leaving and B the social experience of being possibly crushed by a bunkbed with my small children. Im hoping some time in the future these memories will turn happy, but right not it REALLY is not. And don’t even get me started on the restaurant. Horrible food with an even more horrible man who screamed at my celiac toddler , and when asked if the tap water was drinkable, he shrugged and said maybe. Not good.

In defence of Bleu Village I have just come back from taking 40 Y11-13 students to Naples and we stayed at the Bleu Village, initially with a sense of trepidation after reading the reviews, but I will absolutely be requesting this place again. I’ve given it 5 stars based on its clear ability to do what it sets out to do, and without wishing to get all Basil Fawlty over this, a lot of reviews really beg the “what were you expecting to see out of a Torquay hotel bedroom window?” sort of response. Bleu Village provides absolute budget accommodation in an amazing location. Yes it is basic, but we wanted lodging and scran only and they delivered perfectly. Rooms are clean. The kids loved having their own bungalows and this was amazing for a school trip in the evenings when we didn’t have to say “just sit in your hotel rooms” as they had freedom of the site. The restaurant manager couldn’t have been more helpful. THE FOOD WAS LOVELY! Comprehensive continental breakfast, they made us nice packed lunches, dinner was yummy pasta starter, main, fruit for dessert. Yes, cold veg with warm meat is weird, but when in Rome etc. Everyone can shut up whinging about the steps too. It’s built on the side of a bloody mountain, THERE ARE GOING TO BE STEPS, and I am now a little fitter with a very toned rear three-quarter view. Reception staff were exceptionally helpful. SENSITIVE STOMACHS DO NEED TO AVOID THE TAP WATER IN THE BUNGALOWS or a vom fest will ensue, but that’s only if you’ve drunk loads of it, it’s the same for a lot of places round there, and there’s plenty of bottled water available.
