My girl and I visited BlendHouse Indian Fusion Restaurant for the first time recently. Located just a stone's throw from Utrecht Centre, the location is convenient, and the first impression upon entering was very positive. The internal arrangements are lovely, creating a warm and inviting ambience. The Positives:. The food itself was the highlight of the evening. It was genuinely delicious, and I really appreciated that they made it authentically Indian spicy when requested; something not every place gets right. The staff were also very friendly and welcoming. The Negatives: * Portion Sizes & Price: The value for money was a bit disappointing. Even with a 30% "The Fork" discount on the food, our bill came to over €50 for just 1 starter, 2 mains, 1 naan, and 3 drinks. The quantity of rice included with the two main dishes was surprisingly low; it wasn't even sufficient for one person, forcing us to order a separate naan. * Speed of Service: We waited 45 minutes for our main course to arrive. * Drink Service: Once the food finally arrived, I asked for a quick refill of the wine glass. It took another 10 minutes and an additional request to get it. I noticed the bartender was busy making cocktails during that time which I totally understand takes time, but it felt inefficient that any other waiter couldn't simply pour a glass of wine in the meantime. We had to pause our dinner waiting for the bartender to complete making her cocktails and only then she could refill our wine glass. Verdict:. It was a mixed first experience. The kitchen clearly knows what they are doing with flavors, but the service speed and portion-to-price ratio needs improvement. Despite the hiccups, the food was good enough that we are willing to give it another try in the future. Food: 5 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 5 Price per person: €50–60

I would definitely recommend this restaurant. We had a really nice diner here with our family. The food was very good. I would rate it a 8,5 out of 10. The service and atmosphere were both very friendly. Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4 Price per person: €30–40

Friendly and caring owner and his team, who really made us feel at home with their testy dishes. Great place to be with a family to enjoy the food.
