This is one of those instances where a company's reputation is stellar and then a new owner takes over and gets to capitalize on that. It took me over 6 weeks to get a refund from a large order of cupcakes that I paid for up front and no longer needed due to work travel changes (I gave 6 months' notice so it's not like special ingredients were purchased, etc). After playing email tag and sending weekly follow ups, I showed up on the doorstep and finally got a refund (we live close to Ottawa). I will say that the serving staff was absolutely delightful, listened to me, showed empathy, and even looked at the till to see if they had enough cash. They took my name and number to pass on to the owner and the issue was resolved that day. I waited in line and watched them interact with customers and they were truly wonderful demonstrating care to each customer even though it was a very busy Saturday early afternoon and I'm sure they were feeling it.
