There are no surprises here. Everything solid. I would recommend if asked. But nothing special either. The food is good but not star cuisine. The selection is very wide and is based on the name. Spaetzle, roast, schnitzel with steak, burger pizza. The portions are reasonable according to mine and those I saw at the neighboring tables. Price performance fits. Since the dishes are ready very quickly and due to the selection, it is reasonable to assume that (as is often the case) ready-made products are used. But there are certainly few restaurants that roll Maultaschen themselves, scrape spaetzle or bread the schnitzel themselves. My salad was good. The potato salad had the typical soup broth taste that I like. The dressing was slightly sour and also OK. According to the menu, the pizza here is homemade. I would confirm this with the dough. The edge rose nicely and was fluffy, as well as the typical small burnt bubbles. The bottom is slightly crispy. It was probably baked on a pizza tray and you could see the typical marks on the bottom. Unfortunately too much cheese for my taste. That's why you didn't see or taste any of the homemade pizza sauce. But the cheese really pulled strings. In some places on the edge the cheese was so crispy that it reminded me of a baked pretzel. All in all, a pizza that you can fill up on and is worth the money, but not a typical Neapolitan pizza. Others here in Vaihingen can do that better. The service is very, very customer friendly. You will be served quickly. There are many hard-working young people at work. However, I had the impression that the overview was sometimes lost. Taking the order, serving, clearing and cashing was done by different people. The wrong drink was delivered by mistake because the table number was wrong. Nevertheless, I felt comfortable. Everything was just incredibly fast and friendly. The atmosphere is reminiscent of rustic apre-ski. Heavy wooden tables and folding tables with tablecloths. In the back area everything was full and unfortunately a bit drafty on the feet but not cold because there were gas lamps hanging on the ceiling. This is probably an open beer garden in summer. In the front area of the building everything is also rustic, modern. There were many tourists there. Presumably to eat “typically” Swabian. My expectations were fulfilled. The Vaihinger Wirtshaus is recommended, you can't go wrong here and you can have a sociable evening. The Vaihinger Wirtshaus is a good spot for gatherings and can accommodate large groups and families. Their generous portions ensure you leave feeling satisfied. Their delicious house-made fries paired with the sour cream dipping sauce is a must. While the burgers were decent, the only minor drawback was the slightly dry and crumbly buns. Overall, a great dining experience that’ll leave you full and content. Kid-friendliness: They have a good kids menu and offered a small treat to each of our kids at the end of our meal.
