La cuisine belge est bien préparée à ce restaurant. Un personnel créatif attend les clients tout au long de l'année. Un service à Barrel est beau. Les utilisateurs de Google qui sont allés à ce lieu déclarent que la note la plus appropriée est 4.9.
During the lockdown we wanted to bring a culinary feeling into our home for the birthday. That's why we thought it would be fun to try the new restaurant 'Barrel' from Lier. The meal was delivered on time. We had a carpaccio as a starter and wild boar as a main course. The carpaccio was delivered on a large plate, great. The carpaccio was very tasty. We first had to warm up the wild boar in the oven and then transfer it to a plate. We followed the instructions provided. Too bad that not all pieces of meat were cooked equally. Some pieces were almost raw, which was not appreciated. There was also not the 'wow' feeling like with the carpaccio. There were plenty of croquettes supplied and there was also plenty of meat. However, the wild boar did not give us a wild feeling. Overall a moderate experience. Not bad, certainly not, but certainly not a wow feeling, which we expected based on the reviews. Price/quality was insufficient for us. For the price we paid, you can get a 3 or even 4 course menu at other similar establishments. Too bad there was nothing extra included (e.g. an amuse-gueule, something extra for the birthday boy or girl, ...). You also had to pay for the bread and butter separately. There was a 'Spotify' playlist that you could put on while eating.

Nice to hear about the punctual delivery, the tasty carpaccio, sufficient portion and the Spotify list. We are sorry to hear that your expectations of the boar were not fully met. We know the oven and temperatures in the restaurant inside out, but the difference with take away is of course that everyone has a different oven at home and that the heating times are sometimes longer or shorter than indicated in the guidelines. Furthermore, we can only say that we use the finest part of the boar, namely the pure fillet, in our take away. We will certainly take your feedback into account in the future and would like to welcome you to the restaurant so that you can discover the difference in experience for yourself. Kind regards, Daisy & JeroenMore
