Our recent visit on Saturday left us totally dissatisfied,
1. Ordered lamb shank which looked like it had been cooked and not roasted at the end of the cook. The meat was tough with very little taste, not what I expected at a cost of R240 per serve.
2. Ordered Eisbein, which is advertised as cooked to perfection, when I ordered I was assured that the crackling would be cracking, this was to my satisfaction and the best part of the meal, the meat however was tough and not falling off the bone, a real challenge to cut and enjoy.
When and we told the waiter she was not interested, the only thing that was of interest to her was to huddle together with the other waiters and enjoy each other's company, rather than make sure the customer's needs were met. My conclusion is they know how to serve fried fish (with bones in) but have no idea of how to cook specialty cuts to perfection.

Took my wife for the first time to Barn & Barrel on the 27th July, in the morning. We were greeted by a waitress and taken to a table with menus. That was the last time we ever saw a waitress. Waited around 10 minutes for service. No service or waitress. Place was not even busy. Advice to the manager: If the company is ever going to survive, service must be a priority. Especially, the pay weekends. Thus, resolve this issue asap! Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1 Service: Dine in Meal type: Breakfast
