Restaurant avec plat à partager, une cuisine raffinée servie avec amabilité. Je conseille vivement l'humus avec pain pitance chaud, ainsi que le mille feuille au caramel beurre salé crème et le cake aux amandes rhubarbe et crème. Une tuerie. Merci. Barbarea, tucked away in the creative hub of Põhjala Tehas, is a place where industrial charm meets contemporary dining. By day, it operates as the much-loved Karjase Sai bakery, but in the evening it transforms into a stylish bistro with a relaxed, social atmosphere. Enjoyed a tasting menu of around six dishes, each carefully composed to showcase a mix of international influences and seasonal, locally sourced ingredients. The flavors were well-balanced, the presentation thoughtful. The setting is warm yet airy, blending the raw character of its former industrial space with creative touches that make it feel both modern and welcoming. While Barbarea didn’t earn a star or Bib Gourmand in the 2025 Michelin Guide, it is still featured as one of Estonia’s noteworthy modern bistros — a testament to its quality and its role in Tallinn’s growing culinary scene. Verdict: A great choice for anyone looking for a casual-yet-refined evening, with inventive dishes, a creative atmosphere, and a genuine sense of place.
