We waited more than they said on the menu(20-60min), absolutely ignoring us, we needed to call them so they came to us, the atmosphere was not that good, no music, the only thing I could hear was from the other restaurants but there was no music on. The food was good, I ordered cârnați de porc and fries, others from my family said that the food wasn't seasoned and they didn't offer salt in the table either. Restaurant Ballans is located on the seafront just a few meters from Piata Cazino square in the center of Mamaia. The restaurant has a large outdoor terrace with pleasant seating areas and lighting. Several of the seating groups have hammock swings, which makes the restaurant stand out in a positive way. We received no greeting or eye contact with the staff upon arrival and it took some time before the menu was presented on the table. None of the dishes were highlighted and the employee did not ask if we wanted anything to drink. There was also a lack of smiles and service comments from the employee. We chose to order spaghetti carbonara and pizza pepperoni respectively. The carbonara was served after approx. 25 minutes and the pizza after approx. 35 minutes, which was perceived as long in relation to the type of place. The food should also have been served at the same time. The portion of Carbonara appeared small and the presentation appeared boring. There was no bread or extra Parmesan, which is common in similar places. The carbonara didn't taste particularly good either and was a dining experience that is quickly forgotten. The pizza had a nice presentation, seemed homemade and tasted as expected without being particularly outstanding. None of the staff asked if the food tasted good or offered more to drink when the glasses were empty. It also took a long time to get attention when we wanted to pay. The staff appeared unengaged and we received no greeting when we left the place. Neither the food nor the service was particularly outstanding and, compared to the price level, we did not feel that we were getting value for money. We will therefore not visit the place again and will not recommend it to others. Food: 2 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 4
