The waffle looked like someone puked on it. Fresh cream was sour. Terrible and did not taste great at all. The worst waffles I have ever eaten. Sorry with so many offers in Clarens this one is a skip. The lady and gent who served us was also so so..... when I told her the cream was sour she said sorry.... we will check..... and just continued..... told the gent too and he was just whatever....... There are many better offers in Clarens and this one I suggest you avoid. We were 3 people and we all agreed this was the worst meal of our trip. Dissapointing to say the least. Other restaurant reviews will follow. And then the owners response was so arrogant below. We sent back 1/2 plus half plus quarter.... Also NO fresh cream was offered. It is clear that you are trying to cover up some fatal flaws in your restaurant. We have three people and we all agree that we got no explanation and no fresh cream...... I read your response to them and we had a good old giggle. We are all stunned at the response. Contrary to what you may believe..... we were NOT informed about the thick and "Fluffy" waffles......Maybe you should learn how to handle clients better. But let your patrons make up their minds. Dear Dieter Moller We are sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your waffle as our waffles are extremely popular and our customers love them. We do find it rather strange that you finished all the food except for a 1/4 of the one waffle if it was so terrible. Our male waiter took time to explain to you that our waffles are thick and fluffy and while mistakes do sometimes happen our female waitress immediately went off to the kitchen and we served you new fresh cream. recently visited this restaurant and had an exceedingly disappointing experience. From the moment we arrived, the level of unprofessionalism was palpable. The manager's attitude was shockingly rude, and our waiter was unresponsive despite our repeated inquiries about the status of our food. If you have hungry children, I strongly advise against dining here.

The most disconcerting aspect of our visit was the manager's behavior. Rather than addressing our concerns, she blamed us, the paying customers, for being impatient. Her staff appeared to be overwhelmed and disorganized, which she implied was our fault. This level of unprofessionalism is unacceptable in any establishment.

Additionally, the restaurant seemed severely understaffed, and instead of taking responsibility, the manager made it clear that it was our problem, not hers. It was as if all her operational issues were being unfairly transferred to us.

Overall, the experience was extremely unpleasant and unprofessional. The management's rude behavior and inability to handle customer service appropriately mean that my family and I will never return to this establishment. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Enjoyed lunch at the Artist's Cafe in Clarens. Friendly staff, also pet friendly. Nice playground for the kids. The food that we had, tasty. Recommend Artist's Cafe Clarens. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: R 150–200 Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4
