Cute outdoor seatings and loud, vibrant inside. Expect some wait time either way. The food was quite fresh and tasty, especially the Bun Rieu Cua. TLDR: Served "vegetarian" food that had meat in it. Twice. Very little apology or compensation for error. I come here every year with a work group for our end of year celebrations. This year I had a terrible experience. We ordered a side of vegetarian spring rolls for me (as I have been a vegetarian for 10 years) and an order of the meat (pork?) spring rolls for my colleagues. When the first set came, they said they were vegetarian. I for some reason felt apprehensive upon looking at them and had a colleague try one. They could not tell if they were for sure meat or not. We called the server back and they said they were for sure vegetarian. I still didn't feel right, so did not try them. The server then returned and asked to take the rolls back. When she came back, she let us know that those had not been the veggie spring rolls, but the meat ones. They later brought a second set of veggie spring rolls, checking with the kitchen and ensuring us they were veggie. I proceeded to take a bite or two. Another server returned and asked to take the veggie rolls back to the kitchen to check. At this point I felt uneasy as I had eaten some of the roll. She returned and apologized, saying once again they were meat and not veggie spring rolls. When I said I had already eaten some of them she said "It's not an allergy is it?", which felt quite rude and belittling of an ethical, health and lifestyle choice I have been dedicated to for a decade. They eventually did bring the correct veggie spring rolls (3rd times the charm?), but I felt uncomfortable the rest of the meal (and long after). They did not charge us for any of the spring rolls, but that was all the apology and compensation we received. These kinds of errors are super damaging, whether based in allergies, lifestyle or even religion. And leaving feeling like my dietary restrictions were insignificant enough to not even worry about catering to put a bad taste in my mouth (pardon the pun). Will never be going back here again and I always share this story with people around me to show another side of this restaurant. Vegetarian options: Although there are many vegetarian options, they struggle to assure you that they are, in fact, vegetarian. What an amazing spot for great food and great cocktails! I was pleasantly surprised to visit Anh and Chi on a very busy evening and still managed to get a seat at the bar! The food was beyond expectations and the cocktails were phenomenal!
