I visited Toronto for 10 days and went here for a dinner date with a friend — and this place truly left me speechless. From the moment we walked in, the interior design was stunning. We were seated downstairs, which made the experience feel even more intimate and special. The service was exceptional — attentive, warm, and professional throughout the evening. The cocktails were beautifully crafted, and the food absolutely unforgettable. Every dish was thoughtfully prepared and presented. We chose the 8-course tasting menu downstairs. At $250 per person, it’s definitely on the pricier side, but it was a full culinary experience rather than just dinner. Honestly, we don’t regret it at all — it was worth it for such a memorable night. If you’re looking for a special dining experience in Toronto, this place is truly something special. I’ll start by saying you obviously cannot replicate the experience of dining in the underground room anywhere else in the city, that was cool, also evidently a factor baked in to the price. All the food was solid, a few things were creative, but overall I’d say good not great for what I had anticipated at this calibre of resto. Only 1 or 2 of the 8 courses did I say oh wow this is good. More so majority had me thinking I’ve had this or something similar better before. What was nice is I did feel like collectively the portions were good, which is always hit or miss at these kinds of places. We did leave feeling a good amount full. The underground space is a pretty small room so honestly it’s pretty loud. We could still talk but don’t expect a quiet dinner. The service was good but fell apart at the end of the evening. I won’t identify staff out of respect. We waited 25 min for desert (which honestly at that point we didn’t mind and we understood the kitchen got backed up) and about 20 minutes if not longer just for the bill. Two of the servers were excellent, explained each dish, great demeanor, very proper. However, there was one guy who was pushing drinks on us a little too much, it started to feel over bearing and disruptive (I ordered 3 drinks total it’s not like I didn’t). This is the same guy who also took forever to bring me the bill, instead serving other customers as I watched him go back and forth. After sitting for over 2 hours, i unfortunately was restless and couldn’t wait to leave by the end because I waited so long for my bill. I would usually be way more understanding on this aspect but for the calibre of restaurant and money being spent, it was over the line. In total we were there from 5:30-7:45. We had such a beautiful experience at And/Ore. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm, stylish, and welcoming. Our server, Dawson, was absolutely amazing, attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely kind. They made sure we felt taken care of the entire evening and offered great recommendations. A special thank you to the Manager, Abby, who was so incredibly accommodating. She went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect for us, and you can truly feel the care she puts into the guest experience. My partner and I went for Valentine's Day and the decor was impressive. From rose shaped ice in a sangria to complementary glasses of red wine to set the mood. The food, the service, and the overall vibe were top-tier. We’ll definitely be back and highly recommend And/Ore to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience in Toronto.
