I purchased food for my daughters 1st birthday. Everything was packaged well and I was given the food at a good price. However everyone at the function suffered with a mild case of food poisoning. We initially thought it might have been because the sauce was hot and hence the frequent toilet visits but some did not have sauce yet still suffered. I was very upset as I always deliver quality food to my guests and now the quality was subpar. I was very disappointed because when I called papa boa to complain they said the only way to know if this was true is if someone got proof from a doctor. So someone had to be critically ill for me to be taken seriously. I also had a pregnant women at my function and I was so upset that I gave her bad food. Since I ordered so much there was quite a bit of left overs which I sent with friends and family and as the days past the food poisoning got worse because obviously it was quickly going bad faster. I had to tell everyone to throw what they had away. Food: 1 Service: 5

If you're in Rivonia and craving authentic Portuguese flavours, Papa Boa is a must-visit. I recently tried their chicken pasta and my husband had the Papa Boa burger, and both dishes were absolutely delicious. The chicken pasta was a standout—perfectly cooked pasta with tender chicken, all smothered in a creamy sauce that had just the right balance of flavours. What truly set it apart, though, was when I added the Papa Boa Portuguese sauce. It had a depth of spice and richness that elevated the entire dish, making it something special. The Papa Boa burger was equally impressive. The patty was juicy and full of flavour, topped with fresh ingredients. It's definitely not your average burger. I had an overall great dining experience. My pictures really don’t do the food justice—next time I visit, I’ll be sure to take better pictures. Highly recommend Papa Boa for anyone who appreciates bold, well-seasoned food with an authentic Portuguese touch! They serve mussels with beards in the seafood pasta. The owner was surprised when I raised it as an issue, and he quesioned why I don't eat mussel beards.

I mean, mussel beards! Absolutely disgusting and inedible! If this was Masterchef, Aldeia would be sent home immediately.

Btw, they still charged me full price for the meal even though I only had one mouthful! Highly disappointed. I would not recommend this place!

Stay away and spend your hard earned money elsewhere!
