The owner of this place is extremely rude and his attitude stinks.

Purchased meat today at ASA Meat & West Indian Grocery Inc. I purchased a whole lamb leg cut into pieces. Went straight home and went to go and prepare the meat for cooking. The moment I opened the bag, a smell like nothing I've experienced before hit me. I was instantly sick to my stomach throwing up in my sink. Upon further inspection of the meat I saw that it was coated in a thick slime and was different colours. I immediately called the store and was told to bring it back. I took it back to the store where the man at the front took it to the back butcher area and looked at it. He proceeded to tell me that:1. I was crazy and didn't know anything about meat.2. The meat was just fine and that's how it should smell and look. 3. That I couldn't afford the meat and that's why I brought it back. 4. That he wasn't going to do anything about it.Anyone that knows me knows that I cook fresh lamb constantly. I am very familiar with how it smells and how it should look. I had already paid for the meat and didn't have an issue with his price or I simply wouldn't have purchased it. I didn't want to start an argument and stoop to his level of ignorance. I simply asked for his registration number for the business so I could file my complaints and take actions so this doesn't happen to anyone else. He told me he's not giving me any information and to F off. This was never about the money, $40 isn't going to make me rich or poor. I simply wanted to make him aware in the event that his freezer had malfunctioned, and maybe he wasn't aware. After being told that the meat was perfectly fine and that I was crazy. I took the meat a butcher a few mins away and was told by him that the meat had gone bad, even though it was still ice cold it wasn't fit for consumption. I then took it to another butcher at Fortinos and was told by there meat department after through inspection that the meat was far past its expiration and it should be disposed of immediately.I was treated very disrespectfully today by the staff at ASA and I wouldn't wish anyone to go through the experience I did. Had someone who didn't know about meat purchased this the outcome could have been very different. I am all for supporting small businesses, however I can now understand why people choose to purchase at a more reputable shop. Accountability is important, especially when your selling products that will be consumed by families and people of all ages.
