Have had breakfast and lunch at this restaurant. The presentation is very good and makes you happy to have ordered that plate. The food is excellent and does not disappoint. The ambiance is friendly and relaxed. Definitely would recommend as a family restaurant.
Lovely setting , great food and attentive service ! Great for a weekend breakfast . The cakes are freshly baked and delish!!! You get a decent cup of tea or coffee with all breakfast orders - what a nice treat
UPDATE: 4/5 to 2.5/5
A Pinch of Thyme has been a personal favourite for many years because of its beautiful location and appealing, homely food.Â
Located in a small, beautiful nursery A Pinch of Thyme is the perfect place to go if you want to have a relaxing breakfast or lunch while being surrounded by the aroma of growth and plants and colourful flowers.Â
The restaurant is currently (September 2015) being renovated and from what I have seen it is going to be a much needed upgrade and have a cleaner, modern aesthetic when it is completed. We have had the same waitress for many years now and she is always friendly and has an excellent knowledge of the menu.
Finally the food. A Pinch of Thyme has a large variety of dishes including wraps, open sandwiches, large breakfasts and baked potatoes. All of the dishes I have tried have always been fresh, homely and delicious and I have them three or four times before trying something new with then becomes my new favourite. The open sandwiches on the farm style bread is absolutely scrumptious and the baked potato with mushroom and bacon is perfect for a cold day. They often have special boards up with new and exciting dishes so definately be on the look out.
UPDATE:
After recently visiting A Pinch of Thyme I am very disappointed. The new decor has turned out to be very tacky and over the top; the waitress who served there for years seems to be gone and has been replaced by a hoard of teenage girls who the floor manager is constantly yelling at (lunch can get pretty awkward when a grown man is yelling at a teenage girl over your table) and the food has taken a turn for the worst. While my meal was good my boyfriend's chicken wrap was dismal to say the least. The chicken was curried (we suspect it was leftovers from the buffet that ended when we arrived) and the wrap was filled with old chips(?). We probably won't return anytime soon.
